I'm liking the new interface.  It seems a bit more clean then the previous version.  And you say it's Skinnable.. that'll put a whole new feel to it as well.

It is actually simple compared to skinning the old UI. This one has many more options opened for skinning and moving around buttons, etc

i've been reading around looking for a solution, but nothing yet.

Delete clientregistry.blob from steam folder and relaunch?

yeah did nothing, apparently it was a temporary problem that everyone who was using the mod who tried to log in for about a half hour period had. been fine ever since. (happened right after an update was released, i think they said they immediately released another quick update fix.
